These are some genius startup ideas. I feel if executed properly, will make a killin...
Giftiin:
Excuse the company name Ookkay—I was 15 and only knew about Namelix for generating business names.
E-commerce marketplace that allows users to create their own stores and sell products within Giftiin platform. I thought it was a genius idea until I discovered a company had already done it back in 2004.
Thanks a lot, Shopify.
CrowdFav:
This is still a great idea in my opinion.
Imagine a photo marketplace where people can download quality pictures and videos of themselves enjoying their time—without initially knowing they're being captured.
It sounds creepy, but hear me out.
You know those moments when you wish you had pictures or videos from a past experience to relive the memories?
OR
When you're looking for the perfect shot to post on social media?
Now imagine a platform called Crowdfav where anyone with a good camera can sign up and capture candid moments of people in public (emphasis on PUBLIC).
They can then approach these individuals and let them know they can purchase the images or videos on Crowdfav for a small fee.
I don't have a name yet, so let's call this one
Tinder for Roommates:
This is an idea I want to start actively working on, and I'm looking for developer friends who want to work on something exciting to reach out to me. Nowadays, I believe one of the biggest problems for self-taught developers or college dropouts is the feeling of not belonging to a community or not having 'problem-solving' friends to work on things together.
Imagine an app that lets you find roommates or friends based on interests and income group. You fill in your details, we run a background check to ensure accuracy, and then you start swiping on potential roommates or friends based on their interests. If they like you back, you can start communicating.
This way, you can schedule coffee meetups, maybe move into an apartment together, and work on something. The possibilities are endless!
I suffer from this personally, so this is something I would definitely use. If you read this post and feel this is something you want to work on with me, reach out to me ASAP.
Nerve:
Has anyone seen the movie Nerve?
Now imagine an app like Nerve, but without the killing part, of course.
In this app, people are given dares, and the more dares you complete, the more street cred you earn. This will be a worldwide phenomenon with no gender or racial discrimination. We could partner with streaming services like Twitch or Kick.
I think this will be awesome! This way, the new generation won't just stare at their screens all day; they'll be motivated to get things done for street cred. The best part is that the dares aren't limited to one kind. Just like we have different subreddits, different communities in Nerve can create various types of dares based on user interests.
For example:
If you're a nerd, a dare might be to build something with a particular set of technologies within a short time frame. Or, it could be something like going up to a girl at the mall and recording yourself talking to her.
Nerve Lite:
I'm sorry about the names guys.
Another idea is Nerve, but for talking stages, friends, or couples. This version would give users dares to help them get to know each other better, similar to that Netflix series [I can't remember the name].
Borrow Up:
Imagine a business that lets you borrow amazing outfits for one-time occasions.
We've all been in a scenario where we get invited to an event or party and don't have anything to wear.
Borrow Up allows you to borrow clothes for these special occasions. We could partner with e-commerce brands that have leftover clothing drops that aren't selling. Instead of getting rid of these items, they can lend them out to Borrow Up and still make some money from them.
Masquerade Inc:
Just like in that Lucifer series.
A company where you can hire people to pose as something they're not.
I believe this concept would thrive in a city like LA.
Let's say you're a teenager and you want to impress your classmates by bringing a very hot girl to prom-DONE.
Or you're an African woman facing pressure from her parents to find a husband—also DONE
Even for founders seeking to pitch their startup to investors with a bit more flair, they could hire "fake customers" to attend the meeting (don't do this—it's a pretty bad idea).
I've still got a ton of brilliant ideas—you should see my iPhone Notes app.
But I don't want to make this post overly long. If you're enjoying this and want more, just shoot me a DM on either LinkedIn or Twitter. I'm considering adding a commenting section, but I'm still undecided. If you think it's a great idea, let me know.
